A somewhat acinine phone-call message just received from Peter @ DWP Norwich.
He stated that the legislation i quoted was out of date, instead directing me to

Where regulation 18 (1) is amended to
(1) For the purposes of section 7(1) (actively seeking employment) a person shall be expected to have to take more than two steps in any week unless taking one or two steps is all that is reasonable for that person to do in that week.”
Peter at Norwich DWP intentionally quoted jobseekers allowance regulations 1996 regulation 18 (1) to me, and the case study(ies) related to it, (the second case study didn't seemingly exist (online at least), but that is now par for the course when dealing with the DWP) this is extremely strange behaviour, if he knew full-well the legislation was superseded by the amendment in 2004, which would be reasonable to assume so.
On a peripheral note, the page with the jobseekers regulations 1996 on the government website, Is not clear, it makes no link to any updated legislation, and suggests no updates have been made to the 1996 jobseekers regulations.
Therefore the only "out" Peter at Norwich has from wilfully deceiving/misleading a member of the public I.e me, is if he himself genuinely did not know that the regulations had been superseded in 2004.
However given the fact that he was quoting specific case law I.e CJSA/1814/2007 and CJSA/3146/2009 (Does not exist - online at least), i think it would be reasonable to assume that he knew about the 2004 amendment and was therefore quoting the original legislation in an attempt to mislead/trap a member of the public.
However the reason i say this is asinine is because i had indeed for that period in question 26/11/2013 - 02/12/2013 taken at least 3 steps towards gaining employment. As you can see from the documented ASE form in the comments below. However for ease of reference i will now re-post it here.

Dan Kinobi I had also received written confirmation upon asking from the DWP, in a previous encounter with them, that 2 steps per week were what was required with regard to the law. I was in good conscience abiding by this, however fortunately it seems i have done more than what was required of me in this instance, thus hopefully this appeal will be overturned shortly.
