Guardian - Tube strike – as it happened

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/apr/29/tube-strike-live-updates#comments

ObiDanKinobi:-

This strike is more than just about the tube workers, its about those people who don't have anyone to stand up for them anymore, workers who are being paid a minimum wage that is below a living wage, unions that are trying to be weakened or destroyed, and employer/employee rights being tipped grossly in favour of the employer.

Its about standing up for yourself and your fellow man, and not being trodden on, or abused.

Zero hours contracts/agencies both abominations that have tipped the balance so grossly in favour of employers that people are becoming slaves in virtually every area. You stand up for yourself? Well theres the door.

It is fucking abhorrent that this government and even ones preceding it, have allowed the gross violation and whittling away of workers rights, and consequently the unemployed's rights, but then that is part of the method of control they are tryi8ng to perpetrate against the citizens of this country.

Make being unemployed so fucking horrendous that no-one wants to be unemployed.

This is turn puts fear into workers, who then don't stand up for themselves.

This is tactical, and those of you knocking these strikers should take a long hard look in the mirror, because currently you are part of the problem.

Unless you enjoy slavery that is?

ObiDanKinobi:-

Let me rephrase part of that to save people interpreting it wrongly.

"that no-one wants to be unemployed".

No-one really wants to be unemployed, I'm sure, what I'm trying to say is that by taking away the safety net, of social security, it means people either starve to death or get a job working for a slave wage. Therefore no-one want to be unemployed because they might die, therefore they stay in their below living wage job, and don't like it when someone rocks the boat slightly, because they are fearful for themselves.

Its understandable, but its fucking weak in my opinion.
Its like being a wilful and compliant slave.

Those who have responsibilities i can understand it, and those who do it but hate it, i can understand that too, but those who defend it?

I cannot understand you.

Don't rock the boat because we can eat and have a roof over our heads....

So no one rocks the boat...

Then they take away the roof from over your heads...

don't rock the boat, because we can still eat....

Then they reduce your food...

Don't rock the boat because we are still alive.

Then as they are being lead to their slaughter...

Don't rock the boat or we might die a bit sooner.

Point is this there's frankly some proverbial boats that need rocking, and the sooner they get rocking the better.

Edited for spelling 15/10/15
